Baha'u'llah is the Founder of the Baha'i Faith.
His title means "The Glory of God." Baha'u'llah was born in Persia in 1817 and died in the prison city of Akka, in the Holy Land, in 1892. His life was a life of great sacrifice and suffering. He spent 40 years in imprisonment and exhile, from the commandments of government officials and religious leaders who feared His influence.
Baha'is believe that Baha'u'llah is the latest in a series of "Manifestations of God", appearing from time to time over the centuries, with the purpose of allowing humanity to know and worship God. To the Baha'is other Manifestations of God included Krishna, Buddha, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. Baha'is believe Baha'u'llah is the Manifestation of God for the day in which we live. His purpose was to unite the people of various religions, nations and races.
